Hair Care Tips

Keeping Locs Clean & Moisturized
It's important that you cleanse your hair a minimum of once a month. To do this you should begin by using a detoxifying or clarifying shampoo followed by a moisturizing shampoo. Apply a herbal rinse or use a liquid leave in conditioner. For an added bonus use a hooded steamer with distilled water and sit under it for 20-30 minutes. Using a hooded steamer restores and conditions your Locs with longer lasting hydration. Then style as desired.
Detox Your Locs
When was the last time you detoxed your Locs? It is recommended to detox 1-2 times a year. You ask why? Locs sometimes fall in your food while eating, brushes against your face and wipes off some of your makeup, or maybe there is some product buildup. The list goes on. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. There are different levels of detoxing. To find out more, book a consultation today.

When to Style My Locs
When should you style your Locs? It is important to wait until your Locs are fully budded. I do not recommend styling starter Locs because it will slow down the locking process and disturb the cylindrical shape, we are cultivating with each grooming session. There are a few things you want to keep in mind before styling. Make sure that the strength and healthiness of your loc is in good standing. The length of your Locs will determine the height of the style. The longer the Locs the heavier they are. I recommend wearing the style for two weeks to give your Locs time to rest before its next grooming session.
